Learn How to Create the Next Top-Selling Game!

Are you a keen gamer? Wouldn’t it be great to build a career combining work with your beloved hobby; people’s working dream is to secure a job in an industry that they love. It means that work doesn’t feel like a chore, like something that you must do to get by financially. According to UK job satisfaction statistics, only 17% of British workers claim to love their job and the most common reasons for employee dissatisfaction are ‘feeling undervalued’ and a ‘lack of respect from management’. From a gaming perspective, there is huge potential for great job satisfaction due to reports from a 2021 survey that said that 88% of respondents aged between 16 and 24 played video games.

Additionally, from esports and virtual reality to your favourite Roadblock games, the industry is huge. Therefore, to keep up with the growing demand, employers have needed to recruit top talent; particularly due to the high demand for new games and technology with over 2.5 billion video gamers across the globe. Essentially, this is because, for a game to go viral, it needs to have been created well and have a high satisfaction rate. For example, ever heard of the famous Super Mario Bros? According to the YouGov America survey, out of the 88% of respondents who had heard of it, 62% of people reported liking it. Sound good? Want to be a part of designing or programming the next top-selling game? Gaming degree courses at the University of Bolton could be perfect for you.  Video Game development
