Welcome to the Sport and Biological Sciences Research Centre

The science of sport and exercise not only serves to enhance the physical performance of elite athletes, but also helps to address some of the world’s most demanding health challenges, such as physical inactivity, unhealthy ageing, obesity, and Type 2 diabetes. As such, our research activity spans across a broad range of investigative areas, from Super League Rugby to Premiership Football, Olympic Athleticism to High-Altitude Mountaineering, and from Cancer Rehabilitation to supporting Veterans who have lost limbs.
