You will combine classroom learning with a variety of work placements* and get the opportunity to be exposed to all key areas of the business.

Once you have successfully completed the degree, you will be taken on in a graduate job role in the company.

About the Course

The University of Bolton’s Logistics and Supply Chain Management degree aims to educate multi-talented supply chain professionals and executives who can take a ‘big picture’ view of commerce, and the role their organisation plays within a collaborative network. We’ll explain how international trade offers opportunities to achieve competitive advantage through effective communication, management and material flow within supply chain operations. You’ll explore how goods and services can be marketed on the basis of quality, service level, lead time and sustainability credentials – not just low cost.

You’ll apply the theoretical knowledge you are learning in the classroom to case studies from Eddie Stobart and you’ll work on live projects from Eddie Stobart as part of your assessments.

How does it work?

Eddie Stobart are guaranteeing a graduate role to 10 students who successfully complete the course.. You will need to achieve a minimum upper second class honours degree (2:1) and will have to successfully complete a work placement with Eddie Stobart.

Work Placements

You will be offered a minimum of two months work placement during the 1st and/or 2nd year of your course. These will be at Eddie Stobart or any of its subsidiary companies.

The placements will be paid at the current living wage and get expenses agreed with Eddie Stobart in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there only 10 places on the course?

There are only 10 guaranteed jobs with Eddie Stobart on completion of the course. You may be offered one of these guaranteed jobs after completing the admissions process.
There are more places available for the course without the guaranteed work placements or guaranteed jobs – see below.

What if I am not offered one of the guaranteed jobs?

You may be offered a place on the course but have narrowly missed an offer for one of the ten guaranteed jobs.
You will still benefit from the Eddie Stobart experience on the course, work on live projects and learn from speakers from Eddie Stobart.
In your final year you will be guaranteed an interview with Eddie Stobart should you choose to apply for any of their available vacancies at that time.

Where will the work placement take place?

The work placement could be at any UK location at Eddie Stobart or one of their subsidiary companies. You will need to be prepared to temporary locate where your placement is offered. Eddie Stobart will be provide as much assistance as possible to help you find temporary accommodation for this period.

Where will the graduate role be based?

The role could be based at any UK location with Eddie Stobart or one of their subsidiary companies and you should be prepared to relocate should you wish to accept the employment offer at that time.

Is the course open to international students?

Unfortunately not. There is currently no post-study work visa route for graduates completing in the UK.

Can I study part-time?

This course is only available on a full-time basis. There is a part-time route for the BSc Business Management (Supply Chain) available for September 2019 but this does not feature the Eddie Stobart partnership.

What if I decide I don’t want to work for Eddie Stobart at the end of the course?

That’s fine, you will have gained a wealth of experience in the industry but may decide for whatever reason that Eddie Stobart is not for you. You are not bound to accept the role on graduation.

Is Eddie Stobart paying my tuition fees?

No, Eddie Stobart are supporting the degree but your fees will be paid yourself or via the Student Finance England in the usual way.

Will I study at Bolton or at Eddie Stobart?

You will study on campus in Bolton at the new Institute of Management but your work placements (if you are on the guaranteed route) will be at Eddie Stobart – see above.
