Our careers office has a range of resources and we provide help and support by email as well as face to face through confidential guidance interviews.

Careers Advice

Our Careers Advisors are on hand to offer confidential, individual appointments for all your guidance needs. They are available throughout the week in order to book one-to-one appointments. What We Offer To Our Students

The Careers Team offers an impartial service to help you with your career planning, to search for a job or voluntary opportunity and to give you advice and guidance on your applications and interview techniques.

Eligibility

Our full services are available to:

  • Current full-time and part-time undergraduate and postgraduate students of the university
  • Former students of the University of Bolton who graduated or withdrew in the last three years

We offer limited services, at the discretion of Careers Service staff to:

  • Students and graduates of other UK HE institutions
  • Former students who left more than three years ago
  • Adults interested in higher education careers related matters
  • Prospective students of the University of Bolton

Services to employers and voluntary organisations:

  • We advertise vacancies and general career-related information free of charge
  • Organisations can book a place to advertise their job opportunities on campus free of charge
  • Organisations can exhibit at the annual Careers Fair free of charge as long as they have real opportunities to promote

Not eligible? The National Careers Guidance Service is a government funded service providing information and advice to support adults in learning and work, via email, telephone and online.

We can offer you:

  • Information on different career paths
  • Information on a range of employers both nationally and locally
  • Support to find a placement or graduate internship
  • The opportunity to gain a range of employability skills and graduate attributes
  • The chance to build your contacts and networking opportunities
  • The chance to explore self-employment opportunities
  • Support to complete application forms, CVs and covering letters
  • Support to find graduate vacancies and postgraduate courses
  • A range of resources and career guides that will help you in your job search
