25/10/2022

Have you been considering a career in midwifery? If so, you need to make sure you choose the right degree program to set you up for success. The University of Bolton's midwifery degree is widely regarded and respected.

Bolton University is known for its excellent healthcare programs, and this course is no exception. The program is designed to give students the skills and knowledge they need to be successful midwives. The coursework is extensive and includes classes on everything from anatomy and physiology to neonatal care. There’s a lot to learn, but don't worry, students receive plenty of support during their studies from our experienced lecturer team.

Midwifery

One of the things that sets our programme apart is our commitment to hands-on learning. We believe that there is no substitute for real-world experience, so we require all students to complete practice learning placements as part of their degree; giving them the opportunity to put theoretical knowledge into practice and gain invaluable experience.

We also offer unique drop-in clinic-based sessions for continuity of care experience, antenatal and postnatal care, simulated education, reflection, and parentcraft teaching. This is just one more way that we make sure our students are well-prepared to enter the workforce.

Together with our NHS Trust partners, we’ll work to prepare you for the challenges that await in this ever-changing world. You learn all about best practices and the skills you need to enjoy a career as a midwife. Students leave Bolton University confident about their abilities both delivering babies or taking care of mothers during labour.

If you’re looking for an accredited midwifery degree that is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, there’s no better place to consider than the University of Bolton! Upon completion, you’ll be eligible to register as a qualified midwife; giving you a great foundation towards entry in a rewarding industry.

Midwifery Degree at Bolton

Choosing the right degree program is one of the most important decisions you'll make in your academic career. Studying in our £31 million Bolton One building, students gain access to state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Suites, where they can practice skills and develop knowledge using industry-spec equipment and simulators; helping them become a future leading midwife.

At Bolton University, we also believe that students need to benefit from practical work experience during their time at university. That’s why qualified healthcare practitioners contribute towards our midwifery modules and are regularly invited as guest speakers so that our students have the chance to learn from their first-hand industry experience of current practice. Students also have the opportunity to develop an invaluable network of professional contacts during their university experience; benefitting from 50% of their time spend indulging in practice learning experience.
