The One Question I Always Get Asked

A question I often get asked is "Why did you leave Mauritius for Bolton?"

Through the months, my answer has always been the same. I left my country in pursuit of my dream which is to finish my ACCA!

I have to admit that I never once regretted having chosen the University of Bolton as it turned out to be the best place for me. This university has not only helped me to achieve professionalism but also to acquire the required qualifications to be a Chartered Accountant.

I’ve had the chance to work with the best lecturers who were always helpful and supportive. Having these lecturers by my side all the time has indeed helped me to get first time passes in all my professional papers, with the highest mark of 74 in Advanced Taxation.

The University of Bolton is not the largest university but when it comes to lecturers and friendliness, it remains the best choice, be it for home or international students.

My adventure at the University of Bolton has been an incredible one. I’ve had the chance to participate in multiple activities, be the Course Representative, work as a Student Ambassador and even be a candidate for SU President.

Sometimes I think about the beginning of my journey here, I realise how much I’ve acquired in terms of independence, confidence and resilience. I have grown into a more qualified individual and I have also gained much leadership skills which are life long gains.
