Jamie Kelly from Studio Up North visited our studio in March 2019 with the exciting news that he would be offering another paid placement to one of our third-year students this summer.
This is the second time we have worked with Jamie and he is a hugely talented graphic designer who has worked on briefs for companies such as The Co-op and Brother UK Ltd.
He has recently set up his own business Studio Up North, which has allowed us to liaise and open opportunities for the students.
Previously he has offered placements to Bethany Schofield and Nicola Murphy, internships based on the work that they produce and the skills they have learned on the programme.
We are delighted to be working with Jamie again, this is a great opportunity for our students to get into the industry. The experience can launch their careers and open up new opportunities and contacts.
It builds on the live engagement agenda we have been cultivating over the last ten years and offers a direct route into employability.
This year, after lots of deliberation Jamie has selected to work with Ya’qub Mir.
Ya’qub said, 'I am really excited to work with Studio Up North, it’s a great opportunity to work with a professional designer with a long history in the creative industries.'
We wish Ya’qub every success for his internship!
