Putting our students needs first

17/10/2022

As any teacher knows, quality teaching is essential for student success. The small class sizes at Bolton University mean that our lecturers get to know their students by name. By taking the time to provide more frequent one-to-one support, and learn about their student's interests and backgrounds, teachers can create a more supportive and friendly learning environment.

What is teaching quality and why is it so important

Many factors contribute to teaching quality; the experience and passion of the lecture team, the great facilities our students get taught in, and the supportive environment. We are constantly working to ensure that all these elements are of the highest possible standard. Our teaching quality also gives us another reason to shout about our multi-million-pound investment in our state-of-the-art facilities; meaning we have the industry-spec equipment to offer our students the university experience they deserve.

How Bolton University has developed a quality teaching practice

Our teaching practice is industry-led and employer-focused. We work closely with industry partners to ensure that our teaching is relevant. We also offer a range of support services to help our students succeed in their studies. We offer the Bolton Award programme, providing work experience to help our students develop the all-important skills that employers are looking for; presenting them with the best chance of standing out from the crowd in a competitive marketplace.

Quality teaching benefits everyone at the University of Bolton. For students, it means receiving a well-rounded and relevant education that prepares them for success in the real world.
