How to train Apprentices | Certificate in Education

Whether you’re a hairdresser, mechanic, or electrician, your skills are in demand. If you’re interested in how to become a training provider for apprenticeships, the Cert Ed Certificate in Education 14+ could be the course for you.

Recent years have shown the need for skilled tradespeople, and to this end, the UK government is making a push to invest in such professions. That push is particularly interesting for the current generation of trades, as it opens up valuable opportunities through creating apprenticeships and work-based learning schemes.

Your skills are in demand
Government research has highlighted how important skills are to the UK labour market. A recent study from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills states ‘‘the stock of skills, however measured... has a strong link with national economic performance, wealth and prosperity”. It’s no surprise then, that apprenticeships and work-based learning schemes are in increasingly higher demand.

Providing apprenticeship training means companies will pay you to provide training schemes for apprentices they want to hire. If you’re thinking of taking advantage of this opportunity, this Initial Teacher Education (ITE) course is a perfect way to get started.

You don’t need any prior teaching experience, and from here you can progress towards a Qualified Teacher for Learning and Skills (QTLS), which is recommended if you want to gain an edge in the Further Education and Skills sector.
