Life as a New Student!

My experience as a new student at the University of Bolton has been eventful!

I have gained and adopted a lot of different skills and techniques throughout the year, especially in the Marketing module.

In the beginning, I found the subject challenging and the theory difficult to relate to, but as time went on, I gained the confidence to speak up in class and get involved in the group research activities. This increased my knowledge and skills, which also improved my decision-making and interpersonal skills.

This was because of great teaching and guidance from my teachers. They made the subject fun and gave me a chance to show what I could do.

However, there has also have been a lot of ups and downs in my first year, as I had earlier struggled to keep updated with all of my modules. The support I received from my teachers helped me to develop good time management skills which benefited me on the marketing module.

The main reason for this success is because I listened to my teachers and attended all my tutorials. They supported me to build up my resilience and I have now achieved 61% in marketing.

The best advice I can give to the new students starting their degree is to stay focused and be responsible. Complete your work early and be resilient, as those are the key factors to achieve success.

There are going to be many situations and scenarios, where you have to take responsibility, but if you are stuck, go and talk to your teachers. They are always happy to help and they will support you to do the best you can.
