Recent times have, for many of us, been turbulent due to the coronavirus pandemic. Job security is nearing an all-time low, and no-one is quite sure what the future holds. You may be wondering how you can lock down a career with job security and a generous salary, or even, how to be an accountant. At the University of Bolton, we believe our Accountancy BA course is one such path and could be the future of your accounting career.
Is accounting a good career?
Even in times of difficulty, accountants are not only in demand, but make good money. People have, and always will, require the help of accountants to manage their finances, providing a secure future. You’re also granted the freedom to work in almost any industry, from music to movies, publishing to personal banking or engineering to entertainment.

- Management accounting - creating forecasts for business or fitting a plan to a budget
- Financial accounting - looking back at past records and creating statements for stakeholders
- Tax accountants - those who advise businesses or self-employed people on how to handle their tax affairs
But how do you get to the point where you’re required to choose?
