Our staff have a wide range of experience in this field and are well aware of the difficulties that may arise when moving to a new town (and out of home). We deal with Halls allocations and all other aspects of student accommodation in Bolton. Our Halls of Residence
The University owns and manages Orlando Village which provide 381 single study, self catering bedrooms. It is close to both road and rail links, and our own staff are available throughout the day and evening to give advice on domestic matters with a 24 hour security patrol service.
So what is included in a bedroom?

Approximately a 10 minute walk away from the main campus and close to the town centre, the Halls are split into eight blocks, each containing eight flats of six bedrooms. Orlando also has a common room available for student use.

As part of our dedication to providing the smoothest transition to university life we offer a guarantee of a place in Halls of Residence to all first-year undergraduates. The only condition is that you submit your application by Friday 28 July 2017.
If you submit an application after this date every effort will be made to place you in Halls, but we cannot guarantee that places are available. For more information get in touch using the contact details to the right.
How much does Halls of Residence cost?
The cost of 2017/18 accommodation will be £3,040.00, this covers a period of 38 weeks and includes the Easter and Christmas vacations. The Standard Contract will commence on 16th September, 2017 and end on 9th June, 2018. It includes costs of heating, lighting, hot water and the internet. Temporary Accommodation is not available at the Halls of Residence.
Semester One study – Semester One contracts will only be offered to those students who are due to complete their studies in January 2018.
The cost of accommodation for students studying from September 2017 to January 2018 during the 2017/18 academic year is £1,520.00. The contract begins on 16th September, 2017 and covers a period of 19 weeks, including the Christmas vacation, ending on 27th January 2018. Like any contract in accommodation, the end date of the contract is set and standard.
Semester Two study – Semester Two contracts will only be offered to those students who are due to commence their studies in January 2018.
The cost of accommodation for students studying from January 2018 during the 2017/18 academic year is £1,520.00. The contract begins on 27th January, 2018 and covers a period of 19 weeks, including the Easter vacation, ending on 9th June 2018. Like any contract in accommodation, the end date of the contract is set and standard.
What does this cost cover?
- hot water
- internet and wifi
- £5,000 of personal contents insurance
- 24 hour security patrol service
- minimal cleaning of communal areas

Full Academic Year
There are three methods of payment available to students signing a 2017/18 38 week contract:
- A one off payment for the full amount
- Termly instalments
- Payment in 8 instalments.
Students who have signed a contract for Semester One will be required to pay their accommodation in full in one instalment, the payment due date will be confirmed in your offer of accommodation.
Semester Two study
There are two methods of payment. Students signing a 2017/18 Semester Two contract can either
- Pay the full amount of £1,520.00
- Paid in two instalments,

Accompaniments to your application
In addition to a fully completed application form we also require:
- a passport sized photograph
- £200 deposit which is refundable at the end of your contract

We no longer advertise property to rent in Bolton however both the Accommodation Team and the Students’ Union Office can advise you of how to search for private accommodation and what to look for when entering in to a contract with a private landlord.
There are many properties available within the Bolton area which range from private houses to private halls of residences. Organising private accommodation would mean contacting the landlord of the property to make arrangements.
