The Bolton Review

Submissions are now open for all University of Bolton students, staff and alumni for the fifth edition of The Bolton Review.

The Bolton Review is a student led creative writing magazine, set up by staff members of the Creative Writing team at the University, to allow its students and staff to submit creative works of all types.

Issue four of the magazine, Photographs and Falcons, was packed with prose, poetry and plays. The latest issue will also include works of fiction, poetry and scripts as well as black and white photography and illustrations.

Holly Gray and Madison Hope-Tatnell, both third-year Creative Writing students at the University, are the 2017 editors. The rest of the team includes first-year English student Cara Bradbury and second-year Creative Writing students Warren Jones and Shirley-Anne Kennedy.

The editors are seeking original and creative content that fits into the below categories:

  • Fiction of 1,500 words or less
  • Poetry of 40 lines or less
  • Scripts of up to five minutes
  • Photography and illustrations (black and white only).

All submissions should be emailed to:
