Alumni share their Bolton stories

Alumni from the University of Bolton gathered with prospective students and staff in Shanghai last week.

The event served as a celebration of their time at the University as well an opportunity to speak to students considering studying in the UK.

Bolton graduates are now working in industries in China, which include engineering and catering as well as the higher education sector.


International Team Leader in Student Recruitment and Admissions, Ben Chen, spoke at the event about the University’s history and ongoing developments which enhance it as a destination for students.

The University is investing £13 million into the construction of a new National Centre for Motorsport Engineering and the development of a new halls of residence behind the arches of Le Mans Crescent.

Dr Erping Zhou from the School of Engineering attended the event and informed students of the merits of studying abroad. Students also shared the experiences and memories of studying in Bolton.

The University of Bolton representative in China, Lianlian Ma assisted in the organisation of the event and has supported students from China to successfully settle and study in Bolton.

The University continues to engage with partners and students in China and help all alumni in the country stay in touch. Further events are planned in other major Chinese cities in the near future.
