Going to university is one of the biggest decisions you will make, and we appreciate that the application process can be quite daunting - Below will help you.

Below are a number of pages which help to explain the Admissions process, covering how to submit your application, entry requirements and important policies which you should be aware of. Home & EU

Full-time Undergraduate:

Full-time undergraduate applications are made via UCAS for September entry. Please note the following information when adding your choices:

Institution Code Number: B44

Applications for January entry cannot be submitted via UCAS (apart from Nursing, see below) and must be done via the university’s online application form. To submit an application, find your course using the below course finder, select the ‘Apply Now’ tab and follow the instructions.

Nursing:

ALL applications for BSc(Hons) Nursing (Adult), regardless of trust, are made via UCAS. This includes January entry. Please ensure you select the correct trust where you wish to undertake your placement when applying.

Pre-degree, part-time, postgraduate taught and professional development programmes:

All non UCAS applications are submitted directly to the university using our online application form. To submit an application, find your course using the below course finder, select the ‘Apply Now’ tab and follow the instructions.

Postgraduate research:

If you wish to undertake a postgraduate research degree with the University of Bolton, we encourage you to contact the relevant Research Coordinator for the academic area where your research proposal will be located. Please visit our dedicated Research and Graduate School webpages for further information.

International

Pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate taught:

The university welcomes applications from international students from all over the world. We try to make the application process as simple and as fast as possible for our international applicants.

How you apply is determined by your current location and what you are choosing to study:

  1. Apply direct to the university. Links for the next available intakes of this course are shown below. Please click the link which will direct you to the online application form. Please read the user guidance before completing this.
  2. Apply via one of our approved in-country referral partners. A list of our partners may be found on the International pages of this website.
  3. Apply via UCAS for courses starting in September only visit www.ucas.com.

Postgraduate research:

If you wish to undertake a postgraduate research degree with the University of Bolton, we encourage you to contact the relevant Research Coordinator for the academic area where your research proposal will be located. Please contact us using the details below.

The University of Bolton’s Admissions Policy can be found in the Student Policy Zone. The policy includes important information about our admissions principles and our decision making process such as; how we assess applications; entry requirements; how we’ll communicate with you and your responsibilities in the process. We encourage all future students to read this before they apply to the University.

Your contract with the University: When we make you an offer to study at the University we are preparing to enter into a contract with you. This contract will be updated throughout different stages of the admissions process and during your time as a student with us.

Information contained within your offer and enrolment letters form an essential part of this contract along with information contained in the following key documents which applicants and students should ensure they have read and understood before accepting an offer and enrolling with the University. The Conditions of Enrolment and Course Fees Policy can be found in the Student Policy Zone.

Complaints and appeals for applicants: If you are unhappy with the way your application has been handled or wish to request a review of the decision made on your application then you should contact the Admissions Team in the first instance. If you are still not happy then should consult the Complaints and Appeals Process for Applicants which can be found in the Student Policy Zone.

Enrolment Cancellation: If you have already enrolled but are for some reason unhappy with your decision, you have a 14 days to cancel your enrolment. We would actively encourage you to discuss this decision with your Personal Tutor or with a Student Advisor, but if you still wish to go ahead with the cancellation, the Enrolment Cancellation Form can be found in the Student Policy Zone.

Additional Policies: All other policies which relate to your studies with the University of Bolton, such as student accommodation, the library code of conduct and exam procedures can be found in the Student Policy Zone.

Key Dates

UCAS APPLICATION DEADLINE

Monday 15th January 2018

Your application will be given equal consideration with others if it is submitted before 18:00 (UK time) on 15th January.

UCAS EXTRA OPENS

Sunday 25th February 2018

UCAS Extra gives you the chance to apply for an extra course if you are not holding any offers elsewhere.

OFFER REPLY DATE (DECLINE BY DEFAULT)

Wednesday 2nd May 2018

If you receive all your decisions by 31st March, you will need to reply to your offers by 2nd May.

OFFER REPLY DATE (DECLINE BY DEFAULT)

Thursday 7th June 2018

If you receive all your decisions by 3rd May, you will need to reply to your offers by 7th June.

OFFER REPLY DATE (DECLINE BY DEFAULT)

Thursday 21st June 2018

If you receive all your decisions by 7th June, you will need to reply to your offers by 21st June.

FINAL APPLICATION DEADLINE

Saturday 30th June

This is the last date for the receipt of applications at UCAS (18:00 UK time). All applications received after this date will be automatically entered into Clearing.

UCAS EXTRA CLOSES

Wednesday 4th July 2018

This is the last date for existing applicants to apply through UCAS Extra.

A LEVEL RESULTS DAY

Thursday 16th August 2018

If you have achieved your predicted A-Level grades then your place on the course will be confirmed. The University’s clearing services will open if there are places available.

UNIVERSITY SEMESTER ONE START DATE

Monday 24th September 2018

Congratulations and welcome to the University of Bolton. Welcome and enrolment events will take place the week prior to the start of the semester and you are now ready to start your Student Journey!
