On Friday 28 April the University of Bolton will host its second independent TED conference. TED is a charity devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Visit www.TED.com to see some of their amazing talks.
The TEDxUniversityofBolton 2017 theme is “Innovate, Integrate, Educate”. The theme is multidisciplinary and broad encompassing a broad range of ideas and approaches which represent some of TED’s core values of forward-thinking, innovation and inspiration.
One of the speaking slots has been reserved for a current University of Bolton student. The conference will take place on Friday 28 April, but we’re running a competition to identify which student should take up a place at the conference.
If you would like to enter the competition, then fill out the form below and submit it to ku.ca1558574674.notl1558574674ob@xD1558574674ET1558574674 before Friday 24 March. You will then be asked to come and present your talk, informally, to a small group on Wednesday 5 April and they will decide who will take up the reserved speaking slot. All of the participants will get feedback on their application form/ presentation.
If you are the winner you will receive additional training before the TEDx conference to make sure you are fully prepared. Your presentation will be live-streamed and could end up on the TED.com website.
