Computing Information
Borrowing and Borrower Services

Undergraduates have a borrowing allowance of ten items.

Postgraduates have a borrowing allowance of fifteen items.
Please use the library catalogue to check for items in stock. Many items on your reading lists are in high demand. Therefore, if all copies of a book you require are out on loan, please use the reservation system. You can find out how to make a reservation by looking at the following cribsheet:
Many of your high demand core book titles have a 'textbook' library reference only copy for use in the library. Therefore you can use the reference only textbook copy while you are waiting for your reservations to arrive. In addition many titles are available as e-books. Check the library catalogue for e-book titles. You can access e-books at any time both in the library and off-campus.
If you need material that is not kept by the library, you may wish to order items using the Inter-Library Loan (ILL) Service.
Fines are as follows:

Resources and Study Skills
You should pay particular attention to your subject pages for accessing resources relevant to your subject. You will also find help and advice for accessing resources on these pages, for example, a subject workbook and training video screen cast for help accessing electronic resources.
The subject resources pages also give contact details of your subject librarian, who will be pleased to help you with accessing resources. You can contact your subject librarian in person in the Library or by email or phone.
The study skills pages provide links to help on all aspects of study, for example, writing an essay, referencing, giving a presentation etc.

Part-time Learners
Students on part-time courses are entitled to the same services as all other University of Bolton students and are welcome to use the Library. However, as a part-time student, it may sometimes be difficult for you to make full use of the Library. Student Services
Student Services are based in the Student Centre, Eagle Mall at the Eagle Campus. It is staffed by a team of Student Advisors providing information, advice and guidance to students (prospective, current and past) and staff. Student Services will deal with all enquiries about general support services.

Online Student Record
This link provides access to your individual student record. Here you can view the personal details that the university holds about you and you can update your address, telephone number and personal e-mail address. You can also view your assessment results via an intermediate transcript. You will need your username and password to access this information.
