Information for International Students

image

Welcome to the Library at the University of Bolton. Soon after you arrive you will be offered a Library Induction where you will meet the Library’s International Student Representative,
Steve Crimes| who will explain the various library services available to you.

If at any time after this you need assistance, Steve is available to offer help and support with general enquiries about the Library and its facilities. He is situated in the Library. If he is not at his desk when you call in just ask another member of staff who will tell you when he will be available to help you.

If your enquiry is more detailed and subject specific, he can advise you which Subject Librarian to contact in the Library. Subject Librarians are responsible for a particular academic subject and will be happy to advise you on finding information for your assignments and how to use the full range of print and electronic resources available in your area of study.

Some of the services we provide include:

International Society

The aim of the society is to bring Bolton's international students and interested UK students together in a social and recreational environment. It's a great way of making new friends and seeing more of the North of England and the rest of the UK.

The society regularly organises trips to places of cultural interest around the UK and to entertainment and social events.

Once a year the society arranges an international evening where students are encouraged to bring along examples of their own cultures and food stuffs so that fellow students and other guests attending the event can enjoy the experience of something different.
