Only one in nine children from low income backgrounds eventually get into the top jobs. But this inequality doesn’t have to be inevitable. That’s why for over ten years the charity Brightside has been connecting young people with volunteer mentors; inspiring role models who help them to unlock their talents, and ultimately a brighter future for themselves and society.
The University of Bolton are now working with GM Higher and Brightside to support young people in the Greater Manchester area.
We are looking for industry mentors to take part in this project in September 2016.
As an online mentor, you will help young people develop the knowledge and connections required to be able to make confident and informed decisions about their next steps – whether that be deciding their future career path, going into higher education or industry.
Training is provided with regards to what you will need to do and the type of advice to give to young people.
