"The facilities are top-class. With the expansion of sports rehabilitation, it's important to move with the times and Bolton definitely does that with the new Sports and Spinal Injuries Clinic."

"Intense. I like to be challenged and this course definitely does that. There is always something to do and a lot of independent study is required."

"I find the course very versatile. My strengths lie in the theoretical side but I get a lot of help with the practical side."

"Being a mature student, I thought I'd find it more difficult to get to grips with the course, but the flexibility of the lecturers and the way they've structured the course is great. It really tests me and equips me with the tools to be able to go into the world of work."

"I have thoroughly enjoyed the Sports Rehabilitation course under the guidance of Anna Everard and Harry Pearson-Young.
I was lucky enough to be given a months work experience at Middlesborough Football Club arranged by Anna. I worked with the first team at the club assessing and diagnosing injuries using the knowledge and skills gained on the course. I observed and carried out functional rehabilitation and core conditioning sessions with players using the drills and exercises I'd previously learned in university. I travelled to an away reserve team fixture, and also to the home FA cup replay game with the first team. I worked with one first team player throughout his whole injury phase, from initial contact to full fitness - this let me use rehabilitation techniques and skills that I had been taught in class.
I had such a good time and learned so much. It's great to see the skills we are learning on the course put into use at such an elite level of sports. I have always wanted to work in football and the university's connections with work experience placements and the modules taught were the main reasons for me choosing this course. Since my first day here I have not looked back!
The fact that the course has given me such good knowledge and experiences has put me in a strong position for applying for full-time positions within the sports industry. I owe my career to the course, Anna Everard, Harry Pearson-Young and all the teaching staff."

"I chose the Sports Rehabilitation course over Physiotherapy as I thought it would prepare me better for a career in a sporting environment such as a sports clinic or club setting. Over the course of my three years at Bolton I have learned from the experience of the lecturers, whose background of working in a variety of professional sports has provided me with the skills needed to progress to the highest levels of sports both nationally and internationally.
The course provided a solid base of knowledge in the prevention, evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and gradually became more focused on these skills as the years progressed. It also provides a firm foundation in the scientific principles of sport such as nutrition, psychology, biomechanics and physiology which I feel will help to progress my career as a specialist Sports Rehabilitator."

"Having served for six and a half years in the Royal Marines the time came for a change of pace and lifestyle. My searches for alternative routes led me to the University of Bolton and in particular Sports Rehabilitation. As a mature student I needed to know that the course chosen was going to set me on the correct direction vocationally.
The Sports Rehabilitation pathway was established to fill a specific role in sport, between the Physiotherapist and the Sports Scientist, and the course equipped me for work in this field and further developed my knowledge within these areas.
My final year placement saw me working with Stoke City Football Club. Following my placement I kept links with the club and returned over the summer on a voluntary basis to run the Academy team's pre-season training.
I have recently been asked to be the Stoke Under 16's Physio, in addition to the work I continue to do with the First team."
