Qualifications outside the UCAS tariff

Not all qualifications are included in the UCAS tariff|.

For instance, Access to HE Diplomas, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3 qualifications, and most EU and international qualifications do not appear in the tariff.

Don't worry though - we still hold these qualifications in high regard and welcome applications from students holding them.

Each year the University of Bolton accepts students from a huge range of educational backgrounds who come to us with a myriad of qualifications. We have a wealth of experience in determining the equivalence of different qualifications and in deciding whether you are ready to study at University-level.

Please do not be put off from applying if your qualifications do not appear in the UCAS tariff.

What level of qualification will you need?

For UK qualifications we normally require students to have completed Level 3 qualifications. The levels of UK qualifications are explained on our National Qualification Framework |(NQF) web page.

You can also read our general entry requirements| web pages.

EU and international students are normally expected to have completed high school or equivalent. You may also need an English language qualification|.
