Academic Interests

Since joining the University of Bolton, my academic interests have been in widening my knowledge of numerical methods for generating approximate solutions of differential equations, enabling me to offer the University a wide variety of subject specific skills at HE6 and in dissertation areas. These include:

Ordinary Differential Equations

I am interested in the stability and convergence properties of single step, multistep and finite element methods for the generation of approximate solutions to initial and boundary value problems.

Partial Differential Equations

I am currently focusing on developing and analysing finite difference and finite element methods for various second order initial / boundary value problems. Some of this work has fed into the third year module “Numerical Solutions of Differential Equations”. Additionally, these areas are often investigated further by interested students in their third year dissertations.
