Teaching Responsibilities

Teaching and supporting pre-registration nursing students to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to be effective graduate practitioners.

I qualified as a learning disability nurse from North Manchester School of Nursing in 1994. After a career working in adult residential services, I moved to working in Manchester with children with severe learning disabilities. During this time I completed my BSc (Hons) Professional Studies in Learning Disabilities. In 2003, I moved into supporting pre-registration nursing healthcare students as a Practice Education Facilitator within Manchester Community Services, completing my PGCE in 2005. In 2014, I became the Professional Development and Education Lead at Central Manchester Foundation Trust, responsible for developing and maintaining education programmes for post registration students and supporting the development of the workforce.

I am at the start of my research career and hope to use my skills and knowledge in my research to develop research to inform adult nursing practice.
