Overview

Ioannis Paraskevas is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Mathematician, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a PhD in Signal Processing. He has been teaching in Higher Education since 2008 on Electronics, Engineering Mathematics and Signal Processing related modules and has supervised PhD, MSc and undergraduate students.

Ioannis’ research work has been published in peer-reviewed international journals and proceedings of international conferences. Furthermore, he has participated in EU funded research projects and industrial collaborations. He has also contributed in university textbooks, co-authored exercises for Signal Processing using Matlab and produced educational material for secondary education.

Dr. Paraskevas holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education and has a strong interest in teaching and learning. His current work focuses on mechanisms and tools aiming to support the teaching the learning of mathematics-related modules, which include the use of software and the provision of tutorials tailored to the learners’ specific educational needs.
