Teaching Responsibilities

Senior Lecturer in Business and Management

Overview

After graduating with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from North-Eastern University, China, I worked within the manufacturing industry in China for nearly ten years, during which time I gained first-hand experience of the challenges faced by industrialists. After moving to the UK I completed a PhD in technology-enabled engineering design at the University of Bath.

I joined the Business School at the University of Bolton in May 2003 and have been teaching on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for on- and off-campus provision in the areas of e-business and business management, e-marketing, people and project management, and business performance management. I have also managed MSc programmes, been involved in the development of a range of programmes and have supervised a large number of BSc and MSc projects.

My research focuses on the areas of e-business strategy, online customer behaviour, online-retailing supply chain, and e-learning tools and e-learning experience, and my work has been published in a range of international-refereed conferences and Journals. My current research has expanded into social media marketing, including the utilisation of social media tools and development of social media marketing strategies. I have also provided consultancy services to a number of SMEs in north west England.
