Law Students Visit Brussels

Undergraduate Law students from the University of Bolton recently headed to Brussels to visit the institutions of the European Union (EU).

Three students studying Law at the University of Bolton have won special awards at the annual Bolton Law Society dinner. The students each picked up the awards for finishing top of their class in different areas of law. Azhmera Jahangir won her award for contract law, Bashir Rassas for public law and Sadiya Patel for European law.
Three judges were the first to enter the new law court at the University of Bolton. The £100,000 moot court, built within the University's Senate House, Deane Road, Bolton, will be used by students studying Law to develop and improve their legal and advocacy skills. Students study on the Law LLB (Hons) degree, both full-time and part-time.
Accountancy students at the University have been taking part in special Business Game organised by Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
Katherine Clark and Juliette Roberts from ICAEW visited the University to run the game for BA (Hons) Accountancy second years taking the Professional in Practice module. The pair also gave a talk about how to become a chartered accountant.
Law students visit Lincoln's Inn

Law students from the University of Bolton recently visited The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. The students were attending a special event which aimed to give undergraduate students a taste of life at the bar. Lincoln’s Inn is one of the four Inns of Court (along with Inner Temple, Middle Temple and Gray’s Inn) which all barristers and trainee barristers must join and is situated near the Royal Courts of Justice at the heart of ‘legal London’.
Students learn EU law from region's MEP

Law students at the University of Bolton have been questioning North West Conservative MEP, Sajjad Karim, at a special lecture organised by the faculty. Mr Karim is the Conservative Party’s European Legal Affairs Spokesperson. In this role he works towards improving and simplifying the law-making process of the European Union (EU).
Speaking with the students, he discussed everything from the Eurozone’s economic crisis to the legislative process and laws of the EU.
BSCA Outstanding Achievement Award 2012
Nominations are now open for the Bolton Society of Chartered Accountants Outstanding Achievement Award. This award celebrates the achievements of the most outstanding accountancy student from the University of Bolton and will go to a talented graduate who shows great promise for a future career in accountancy.
