Senior Lecturer in Accountancy
Prior to joining the university I worked as a senior accountant, a business manager and, most recently, as Assistant Director for Community Services within Bolton Council’s Environmental Services department. During this time I have worked on public-private sector partnerships, joint health initiatives, delivered services to schools and communities, dealt with emergency planning, civil contingencies and led on major procurement exercises.
I currently work with the Accountancy and Law team to deliver a wide range of programmes and hold an off-campus link tutor role with the university’s partners in East Asia.
My academic interests include financial management, contemporary business management, access to finance for business, financial decision-making for managers and business finance, while my research interests cover corporate performance, public service excellence, partnership working and improving health and wellbeing.
I am an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and have recently achieved a Master’s degree in Accountancy with a Distinction.
