Students on part-time courses are entitled to the same services as all other University of Bolton students and are welcome to use the Library. Electronic Information Resources & Ejournals

Remote Access to Databases

During your course you will need to carry out literature searches for journal articles, books, conference proceedings etc. University of Bolton users have access to a wide range of electronic resources, many of which are available remotely.

Databases Available

Most electronic abstracts and indexes provided by the Library are available remotely. All databases require usernames and passwords to access them remotely. Many use an OpenAthens username and password, this is the same as your network username and password. Some may need alternative usernames or passwords. Electronic Journals Available

Registering for Remote Databases

All databases and e-journals available remotely require some form username/password to access them.

OpenAthens Authentication

Many resources are OpenAthens authenticated. To access OpenAthens authenticated databases from home you will need your OpenAthens username and password, this is the same as your network username and password.

In order to view most full-text material from either Electronic Journals or links from databases you will need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader.
