Master Classes - Wednesday 11 November
Board Room, Senate House

The Legal and Technical aspects of Public Art
10am – 12.30pm

Responding to tenders and commissions - a guide for creatives and arts practitioners
1pm – 5pm

These two specialist workshop and networking events will be run by Cathy Newbery.

The first will provide important information about the legal and technical aspects of Public Art. This will include the essential but non artistic elements of public art projects that artists have to deal with. The session will cover in plain English: contracts, insurance, planning law, local authority systems, VAT, tax, copyright and other areas.

The second session will provide important information about how to respond to tenders and commissions.  This will include information on who to apply to for opportunities, an analysis of what is required and the material you would need to put together. This will include information about the clients and the mechanisms, the selection panel and the proposals.

Places for both sessions are free but limited and we anticipate that this will be a very popular session as it is open to both students and external arts practitioners. To reserve your place please contact Jane Stuart 01204 903331 jks1@bolton.ac.uk| or Rebecca Albrow 01204 903332.
