How to Book Your Place
Student invitations
Invitations to the University of Bolton Degree Congregations are sent out to all eligible students towards the end of April. Invitation packs are sent to students' home addresses, it is therefore essential that students keep the University informed of any changes.

Venue
The Degree Congregations will be held at the Victoria Hall, Knowsley Street, Bolton BL1 2AS . The Hall is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from the university.
Please note that the University and Victoria Hall have a 'no smoking' policy which must be observed.

Application
(Please read this very carefully)
If you wish to attend the Degree Congregations you should confirm your attendance by completing the application form enclosed inside the Invitation booklet and return it to the Conferments Office by the date stated. Because all places will have been allocated it will not be possible to process any replies received after that date.
Due to the formal nature of the proceedings, we ask that children under the age of five do not attend.
Outstanding Fees?
If you have an outstanding debt to the University, please contact the Finance Office on 01204 903180. The University reserves the right not to admit you to your graduation ceremony if you have not cleared all outstanding payments.
Please note: If you have any debt owing to the University your certificate will be withheld until your debt is settled.

Your cheque for your initial allocation of guest tickets will be cashed straight away and refunds not made until after the ceremonies have taken place.
Extra tickets may become available; you may request these by enclosing a separate cheque with your application form. This cheque will not be cashed until the extra tickets are sent out. Should extra tickets not be available this cheque will be returned to you.

Your Guide To What Happens on the Day
Please read this information carefully. See the tables below for specific arrangements for your congregation
Registration
You should register for the congregation and collect your seat number at the registration desk, Senate House. It is very important that you and your guests bring your tickets to registration as it will not be possible to issue duplicates on the day.
Guests do not have seat numbers and may sit anywhere in the hall except in seats reserved for students and university guests.
Gowns and Photography
Following registration, you can collect your gown on the first floor of Senate House. Please bring with you your robe acknowledgement form which will have been issued to you by Wm Northam & Company Ltd when you ordered your gown. Robes should be returned by 5.30 pm.
A photography service will be available between 8.00 am and 5.30 pm on the Ground Floor, Senate House.
(37-39 Knowsley Street, Bolton BL1 2AS)
You should allow yourself sufficient time to collect your gown, reach the Victoria Hall and be seated 15 minutes prior to the commencement of your congregation.
Admission to the Hall is by ticket only. No guest tickets will be sold at the Victoria Hall.
Children under the age of five are not allowed in the hall.
A seat will be reserved for you in the centre of the Victoria Hall. You are requested to sit with cap off until, at the appropriate time during the congregation, a member of staff requests a particular row to stand, to walk to the right-hand side and put caps on. You will be guided to the platform and your name will be read out. You will then be presented and leave the platform by the steps opposite to resume your seat.
NOTE: The allocation of seats has been carefully planned to ensure that the presentations take place in the correct order. Once you have been shown to your place, it is essential that you remain in your seat until it is your turn to be presented.
