Tuition Fees

Support from the Government
If this is your first part-time undergraduate or part-time PGDE/PDE course you may be eligible to apply for financial assistance from the government to help you fund your studies. Application forms PTG1 are available from www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance |.Eligibility and entitlement will be based on your household income. Below is a list of what is available.
Tuition Fee Grant
In 2011/12 part time students may be eligible for a grant for fees up to a maximum of £1,230. Please note that you cannot receive a grant which is higher than your overall tuition fee cost e.g. if the cost of your course for an academic year is £1,000 then you can receive no more than £1,000. The amount received is determined by your household income, (for maximum support level income must be below £16,845, partial support may be available on income up to £25,420), and the number of modules that you are studying. You must be studying the equivalent of at least 50% of a full time course.
Course Grant
Part Time students may be eligible for a grant of up to £265 for course-related costs. The amount received is determined by your household income, full grant on income up to £26,029, partial grant on income up to £28,065.

Please note the deadline to apply for funding is 28 February following September starting courses and 30 June following January starting courses.
Access to Learning Fund
If you have unexpected financial problems while you are studying at University of Bolton you can apply for the Access to Learning Fund providing you have received the maximum support package from Student Finance England. This fund enables the University to provide selective help, on a discretionary basis, to students who are in extreme financial difficulty. As a registered student at Bolton, you can apply for financial assistance at any time during the academic year, once you have evidence of receiving the maximum Tuition Fee Grant and Course Grant, information on how to apply for this funding is made available to all new students.
Disabled Student's Allowance
Available for full time, part time, undergraduate and postgraduate students with disabilities. The Disabled Students Allowance helps with costs you incur when attending you course, as a direct result of your Disability.
