Support for Course Representatives
Your Course: making yourself heard
Course Representatives (also known as "Course Reps") are undergraduate and postgraduate students, elected by other students in their department, to speak on their behalf. Reps act as the middle person between students and staff to represent the student voice on any issue affecting the quality of the student experience within the department and more widely across the University as a whole.
Why should I become a Course Rep?
There are many reasons to get involved - such as providing an opportunity to:
-
support your student group;
-
make your voice heard;
-
influence important decisions, including about your programme of study;
-
have abetter understand how the institution works;
-
undertake professional development, and enhance your skills, especially in terms of communication, liaison, working with others, being a committee member and influencing the decision making process.
How do i become a Course Rep?
Course Reps are elected at the start of the academic year to represent a group of students. Your academic staff will arrange elections and students can nominate themselves if they wish.
