I need to find out about the resources the Careers Service can offer me if I am starting to look for a job for when I graduate.
At certain times of the year the Careers Service delivers a series of Employability Workshops covering the job application and selection process. Dates and details will be published on the News and Events page. Visit News and Events for more details.
Employer Directories
At the beginning of each academic year the Careers Service receives bulk copies of Prospects Directory and Hobsons Graduate Career Directory which list large employers of graduates. Call in and collect your own copy while stocks last. You will also find this information on thewebsites
Magazines
Watch out for the following magazines which include articles and vacancies for students completing in June. These are published a number of times during the academic year and can be collected from the Careers Service: Prospects Directory, Doctorjob, Real World, GTI Target, Hobsons
Vacancy websites
Graduate Vacancy Partnership| - www.gvp.org.uk|. We work in partnership with 13 other north west university Careers Services to share our vacancy information on this website. Students can access vacancies by registering their details and entering the student code:bolton. A high proportion of the vacancies are with companies in the north west. Final year students are advised to start checking this website around Easter time if you are a summer finisher and around Christmas time if you are a February finisher.

Local Organisations Vacancy Bulletins
We receive bulletins from the following: Salford City Council www.salford.gov.uk| Manchester City Council www.manchester.gov.uk| and Bolton hospitals NHS Trust www.boltonhospitals.nhs.uk|. The hard copy versions can be checked in the Careers Service by looking in the "Full Time Vacancies for Graduates" file.
