Leave Or Change A Course

You may be thinking about changing or leaving your course. It is important to realise that many students do successfully change courses usually transferring to another pathway here at the University but sometimes some students do leave us to start a new course elsewhere.

Whether you are thinking about a change of course or deciding whether to leave it is a very important decision and so it is important to think through a number of issues before making your decision.

Academic

You need to check the entry requirements and your suitability for the new course and how you will explain your change of mind. Speak to your personal tutor and to the tutor for your new course.

Personal

You need to consider how the change will affect your career direction. It is a good idea to draw up a list of advantages and disadvantages to changing or leaving.
If there are issues you would prefer to discuss with a counsellor please click | to arrange an appointment.  You may also find it helpful to contact one of the student support officers|.

Financial

You will need to check how you stand with your fees and your future entitlement . Check with your local authority|.
You may have a contract for accommodation so seek advice from staff within Student Services|
