The Careers Service
Careers Service
The Careers Service| can provide help and impartial guidance to all students. Practical help and advice on CVs and portfolios, job hunting and skills development is provided by a professional team of careers advisers. The team also works with employers, agencies and other organisations involved in student and graduate recruitment.
Considering a part-time job to help support your time at university? The Jobshop is designed to help students who would like to find part-time work in and around Bolton. It keeps in close contact with employers, job centres and schools within the university. They can give information on tax, national insurance and working hours and help you put together a CV. Students can also find out more about volunteering.
Visit the final year students page to get lots of information on careers fairs, training opportunites, graduate websites and the latest news affecting graduates.
The Careers Service can be found in the Student Centre, Chancellor's Mall.
Students can pop along to the service or make an appointment via the help desk. Many new students familiarise themselves with the careers service and its opening times in the first few days after joining the university – even if they only use the services later.
