The Careers Service is here to help you with:

  • Advertising job vacancies,

  • Providing employment information and advice about recruiting students and graduates

Advertising  Vacancies

Our vacancy advertising service is now organised online. It provides a quick, free way of advertising vacancies to students and graduates. Whatever type of vacancy you seeking to fill, we can help.

Our online database of vacancies (powered by Graduate Prospects) advertises:

  • Immediate vacancies for new and recent graduates
  • Summer internships, projects and other work experience schemes
  • Vacation work during Summer, Easter and Christmas
  • Casual, part-time work of up to 20 hours per week for students to 'earn while they learn'.

The system allows jobseekers to search on a wide range of options including location, degree subject and type of work. We advise them to set up automatic email alerts, so they will  receive email notification of relevant vacancies.

Post a vacancy online:  This system is quick and easy to use and allows you to create, edit and copy vacancies. Posting a vacancy online gives you control of the content of your advertisement and allows you to keep track of how many views your vacancy has received since posting on the site.

First step: you have to register your organisation as a user (which only takes a minute) and you can then create your own vacancy adverts and submit them to our online system. When we receive your vacancy we will review it, and make it live within 2 working days or contact you if there are any queries.

Please click on http://bolton.prospectsnet.com |to register your vacancy with us. You can use this website to enter graduate, work experience and part-time vacancies.

The system is very easy to use and there is help available should you need it. If you encounter any problems email: BB2@bolton.ac.uk| or phone us on: 01204 903080

Part-time vacancies

Our Jobshop website  also advertise vacancies for part-time and temporary staff. Many students are able to work evenings and weekends.  They are flexible and  adaptable, and often able to start work at short notice. We have a large percentage of mature students who are highly motivated and conscientious employees, who can bring a wide range of skills and experience to businesses. In October we hold a jobs fair for part-time work to assist new students to find part-time work while they study.

Using the Job Shop: The Job Shop| can advertise your vacancy on their website and display the details in the careers office and on the website. We can also email registered students to let them know about your vacancy. Interested students can then be provided with your job details which will allow them to follow up the opportunity directly with you.

You can input vacancies via http://bolton.prospectsnet.com | as above or download and complete a job vacancy form|. Once complete, send it back to BB2@bolton.ac.uk| so that we can put it on our web site.
