Student Ambassadors play a vital role in promoting the university and in welcoming new and prospective students to the university community.   These are paid positions so it is important that you approach the role as you would a job.  The duties are interesting, varied and there are lots of ways for you to get involved.

Who can be a University of Bolton Student Ambassador?

If you are a student currently studying at the University, you can be an Ambassador.  There is no age limit and you can be an undergraduate, postgraduate, studying full or part time.

We are keen to recruit students from a diverse range of backgrounds.

How much time will I need to commit to?

The amount of time you commit is up to you.  You can devote as much or as little time as you can manage to Ambassador duties.  We realise that at certain times during your studies you may not be able to take on any duties.  We just ask that if you no longer wish to continue being an Ambassador that you inform us as soon as possible.

What's in it for me?

As a University of Bolton Student Ambassador, you will receive training before undertaking any duties.  The duties you undertake will enable you to develop your communication skills, because you will be dealing with people from a wide range of backgrounds.  Being an Ambassador will also enhance your CV and may improve your employment prospects.  As an Ambassador you will get paid for the duties you undertake.  How much you get paid depends on which duties you carry out and how often, but it is usually as much, if not more than you would get paid for other part time work outside the university.

What opportunities are there for Ambassadors to be involved in?

The University of Bolton is currently recruiting Ambassadors for the following roles:

Student Ambassador

Open Days, Enrolment, Campus Tours and Conferences.  You may occasionally be asked to attend other events which the University of Bolton is involved in.  Ambassadors also visit schools and colleges to talk to young people about their experiences and to encourage them to apply to university.

Aimhigher Associate

As an Aimhigher Associate you will work with 5 or 6 pupils in schools/colleges.  The role of an Aimhigher Associate is to provide information, advice and guidance to young people to enable them to make informed decisions about their future.  To become an Aimhigher Associate you will be required to attend a training course.
