Design Studio

The University of Bolton Design Studio is a centre for ideas and creativity. Bringing together 18 different design disciplines under one roof, we're pioneering a new concept in design development and knowledge transfer between industry and academia. Four floors and over 3000sq ft of space are fitted with the latest design technology for practicing designers, technologists, and students from disciplines which include engineering, architecture, graphics, animation, games, electronics, and product design.

It's the kind of environment where business people and designers can work together and produce outstanding results for both communities and businesses.

The £6 million Design Studio was opened in June 2005 by Tom Bloxham CBE, the man behind the award-winning Urban Splash. It was built with partial funding by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
