This web-page covers the University’s regulations governing the assessment of taught awards, including the recognition of prior learning, the conduct of assessment, how degree results are calculated and how many attempts at an assessment are permitted. It also links through to the regulations for, and further advice and guidance on, the appeals process and academic misconduct (also known as unfair means). These can all be found under the relevant headings below. There is also a document detailing practical advice and useful information for students on the submission of assessments, how work is marked and when feedback can be expected.

If you are a student and have a question related to assessment, then the first place to check should be the guidance document for students. If that still doesn’t answer your question then you may want to look at the regulations below. You can also obtain advice from your Programme Leader, the Student Advisors based in the Student Centre if you are based on-campus or the administrative staff at your delivery centre if you attend a partner institution.
