Spirituality, Faith & Beliefs: The Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy is a place on campus where you will find spaces for meditation, prayer, being quiet or just relaxing.

Here you will find:

  • A Quiet Room, a Prayer Room, Wudu (washing facilities) and Resource Area. There are books to borrow and leaflets to take away.
  • An Office where you can see one of the Chaplains or Pastoral Assistants. Most of these are volunteers and are from various faiths and traditions including Charismatic Christian, Church of England, Hindu, Muslim, Quaker, Roman Catholic and Unitarian. We are in contact with many other traditions, for example, Jewish, Buddhist, Humanist and Pagan.

We can offer to you, irrespective of your beliefs:

  • Friendship and support
  • Exploration of beliefs and values to help live more fulfilled lives
  • Meditations and worship which relate to the university context
  • Information about worship places, religious bookshops and humanist groups.
