I haven't applied yet - what do I do?

If you haven't applied yet then you can apply directly to the University of Bolton.

If you have applied through UCAS this year, even if you are not holding any offers please DO NOT fill in a University of Bolton application form unless you are specifically asked to by a member of our Clearing team. Please read our application notes for UCAS applicants|.

 

1. Choose a course or subject area then call us on 01204 903030

Please look at our list of courses in Clearing| then call our Clearing Hotline on 01204 903030 or email clearing@bolton.ac.uk| to ask about the courses that interest you.

We will ask you for:

  • your name
  • your address and postcode
  • your telephone number
  • whether you are a home/EU or international student
  • full details of all your qualifications including levels, subject names and grades
  • the name of the course(s) you are interested in studying.

2. Find out if we can offer you a place

Our hotline staff may well be able to make you an unofficial offer of a place over the telephone or by email. For some subjects you may need to attend for an interview, provide a portfolio of your work or give a diagnostic presentation. 

 

3. Find out more about the University of Bolton

You can find information about studying at Bolton on our website, but reading about campus life is no substitute for actually experiencing it. We strongly recommend that you visit us on one of our open days|. You'll get the chance to find out more about your course, take a tour of the University and visit our halls of residence. 

If you have a dyslexia, a disability or other support needs we would encourage you to contact our disability service| as soon as possible.

If you need advice regarding fees, finance and funding please contact our student finance team|.

 

4. Choose the University of Bolton and send us your completed application form

If you wish to take up your unofficial offer you will need to send us your completed application form along with photocopies of your qualifications or assessment results.

Once we receive your application form we will check that you have met the conditions required and confirm your offer. You will then receive a letter confirming that you hold an unconditional firm place at the University of Bolton.

We will also send you information explaining the enrolment process. Enrolment is the formal process of joining the University - it's when you officially become a student with us.

Induction is your introduction to your course - during induction you'll meet your tutors and classmates and get your timetable for the semester. You'll receive your induction timetable directly from the academic school offering your course. 

Both enrolment and induction are vitally important to becoming a student at the University of Bolton - please read the information you receive carefully and ensure you attend all the activities listed for your course.

Once you are holding an unconditional firm place you can apply to stay in our halls of residence|.
