2012 Funding Information for Part Time PDE/PGDE courses

This information sheet provides details of the financial arrangements for those intending to begin a PGDE or PDE course at the University of Bolton in September 2012. This information was correct at the time of writing (August 2011) though it is subject to change. Course Fees (Home/EU students) 

 

Tuition fees for 2012/13 have not yet been set. Please revisit this website later in the year for updated information.

The course fees will apply to all PGDE/PDE courses accredited by the University of Bolton regardless of where the course is being studied.

Financial Assistance   

 

Tuition fee loan

 

A non means tested tuition fee loan will be available for part-time students to cover up to 100% of tuition fees charged

In order to access a tuition fee loan you must be studying at a rate of at least 25% of a full-time course

Tuition fee loan will be repaid when you earn over £21,000.

Repayments of part-time loans will commence from the April three years after you begin your course, but only if your earnings are over £21,000.

There are no living costs loans or grants for part-time students

    • Additional Support 

      The universities Access to Learning Fund may be available to students in severe financial hardship. It is a means tested fund and administered on a case by case basis. Only students who have received the maximum tuition fee and course grant can apply.  

    • IFL registered students who are already employed as teachers at FE institutions may be able to obtain a non means tested grant of £400 towards tuition fees from their employers. Please enquire of your employer with regard to this grant.
