2012 Funding Information for Full Time PGDE/PDE courses

This information sheet provides details of the financial arrangements for those intending to begin a PGDE or PDE course at the University of Bolton in September 2012 This information was correct at the time of writing (August 2011) although this is subject. Course Fees
Course fees for 2012/13 have not yet been set
Financial Assistance
Tuition Fee Loan:
If you wish to defer payment of your tuition fees until after the completion of your course you may take out a tuition fee loan to cover the cost of the course. If you choose this option the tuition fees will be paid directly from the Student Loan Company to the University. You will start to repay this loan after the completion of your course and when you are earning over £21,000
Maintenance Grant:

A non repayable grant of up to £3,250 will be available for full-time PGDE. PDE students subject to household income.
To receive the full £3,250 the household income must be below £25,000.
To receive a partial grant the household income must be between £25,001 and £42,600.
Student Maintenance Loan:
A student loan up to a maximum of £3,875 will be available to students who are in receipt of the maximum Maintenance Grant and living independently from their parents.
Maximum student loan of £5,500 will be available for students not in receipt of the maintenance grant and living independently from their parents.
The maximum student loan available if living with parents is £4,375.
Further Education Sector
Training Bursaries:
The university has not yet received notifcation as to whether the bursary scheme will go ahead for 2012/13. Please revisit this website at a later date.

Additional Support

The University's Access to Learning Fund may be available to students in severe financial hardship. It is a means tested fund and administered on a case by case basis. To apply the maximum student funding offered must have been taken out.
