English Language Requirements
If you are applying from a country where your education is not taught in the English language, then you will need to have a suitable English language qualification for the reasons below:

To make your life in the UK as a student easier.

To enable you to understand your lectures.

To enable you to perform well in written assessments and examinations.

To ultimately pass your course.
We expect applicants to have passed the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with the following scores:
Access/Foundation Course: 5.0 IELTS or TOEFL 500 Written/173 Computer based/72 Internet based.
Degree/HND/HNC: 6.0 IELTS or TOEFL 550 Written/213 Computer based/80 Internet based.
Postgraduate Course: 6.5 IELTS or TOEFL 575 Written/230 Computer based/90 Internet based.
Please note that all IELTS or TOEFL tests are only valid for 2 years from the date of testing, any qualifications that exceed this will not be accepted.
Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria may be offered entry on certain conditions. This means that the University may request that you complete a course of English study before the start of a degree course.
