Teacher training and teaching qualifications

The University of Bolton offers teacher training courses in the lifelong learning sector (the post-16 sector). This sector includes FE colleges, adult education, community education, sixth form colleges, universities and the National Health Service.

The Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) course offered by the University of Bolton is a one year full-time course, or two year part-time course, for those who already have an undergraduate degree and wish to teach in the lifelong learning sector (the post-16 sector).

The Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) course offered by the University of Bolton is a course of initial teacher training for those who possess vocational qualifications (such as HND/C, NVQ Level 3 etc) who wish to teach in the lifelong learning sector (the post-16 sector). The PDE is a one year full-time or two year part-time course.
