Payment of student fees and charges

You will have been notified by the appropriate University department of the amounts payable for tuition fees, accommodation charges and/or other services.

You warrant that in using the online payment facility you are authorised to use the debit or credit card for the payment(s) you are making.

We cannot accept liability for a payment not reaching the correct University account due to you quoting an incorrect account number or incorrect personal details.

Neither can we accept liability if a payment is refused or declined by the credit/debit card supplier for any reason.

If the card supplier declines payment, the University is under no obligation to bring this fact to your attention. You should check with your bank/credit/debit card supplier that payment has been deducted from your account.

All payments made through this online payment facility must be made in pounds sterling (£).  Any currency conversion costs or other charges incurred in making the payment(s) or in processing a refund shall be borne by you or the third party making payment, and shall not be deductible from the fees due to the University.

The financial information contained within the Web Payments facility is intended for use only by the account holder to whom it relates. The University of Bolton, Financial Services will endeavour to keep the information up to date; however it relies on information supplied from feeder systems. The timing of receipt of such information may be affected by factors outside the control of Financial Services. Overpayments and Refunds

Payments for tuition fees and accommodation charges will be applied to your University account in accordance with the details submitted electronically.

In the event that an overpayment is made in respect of any fees or charges, the credit balance arising will be used to offset any other debt on your University account (whether arising from tuition, accommodation or any other legitimate charge) in due date order.

If there is no other debt, then the credit balance will be refunded in accordance with the University’s normal procedures.  Where a refund is sought for any other reason, the University’s refund policy in force at the date the refund is sought shall apply.  Details of the terms and conditions governing the refund of tuition fees or accommodation charges where no credit balance exists is available at:

Refunds, if applicable, will only be made to the debit/credit card used for the original transaction.
