The health of workers has a significant impact on the performance and delivery of the University's aims and objectives.
The University's occupational health policy promotes and maintains the physical, mental and social wellbeing of all staff. The University are working with the Bolton Primary Care Trust to promote the healthy colleges initiative for our staff and students and with Sport England on promoting physical activity in the workplace to improve wellbeing. If you work with visual display screen equipment please read the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) leaflet "Working with VDUs"| as it contains advice on avoiding potential health problems. The University is the only university within the Greater Manchester area to become an active First Responder team site for the Greater Manchester Ambulance Service NHS Trust (GMAS) to provide lifesaving medical attention. Click here for more information. |

The University regularly holds health promotion events. The University of Bolton is currently participating in a Department of Health/CIPD programme to raise awareness of alcohol units across the UK workforce. The University is currently considering offering free seasonal flu jabs for University staff in 2009.
