The University has a range of benefits to offer staff. 

Some of these are contractual such as leave entitlements|, occupational sick pay|superannuation| and flexible working.|

Some are introduced under Health and Safety legislation such as free eye screening |for those staff who use visual display equipment (computer monitor/screen).  The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have a leaflet "Working with VDUs".|  If you work with visual display screen equipment please read this leaflet as it contains advice on avoiding potential health problems.

Others are additional benefits which are either paid for by the University such as the Employee Assistance Programme |(a telephone helpline for you and your family)

Our Employee Assistance Provider, amian can now offer audio/visual counselling support for staff overseas or at remote UK locations. This is using Cisco Webex, a very secure web based application. As long as there is an internet connection where the staff are located, amian can offer the service. All you need is a microphone and speakers. A webcam would also allow video.
There is no need to download any software, amian would send an e-mail with a link to start the meeting. It is totally secure and is used by Government Agencies as well as multi nationals, with expats abroad. Or benefits that staff can contribute to such as Childcare Vouchers |and Cycle to Work |on a salary sacrifice basis.

The University also provides access for staff to purchase benefits such as Hospital Saturday Cash Plans |to contribute towards everyday medical expenses and Costco cards to buy  goods from Costco stores. There are currently no in-house Costco events scheduled. University of Bolton staff can receive 10% for any holistic world product. You can register at holistic world  | using your own username and password. To receive a 10% discount just enter the discount code ss1bolton in the discount coupon box in your shopping basket when you are ready to purchase your products.

Staff can also access the facilities in the Sports and Spinal Injury Clinic |located in D1.34.
