Management Development Programme

The trial of the Management Development Programme launched in October 2008 is nearing completion.  It has been extremely successful and found to be of great value by those that have participated.

The programme is aimed at employees who manage / supervise an area of operation or people and will be closely aligned to the University's people and operational management policies and procedures.  It has been specially designed to give practising managers a solid foundation in their formal development as a manager.

The mandatory unit is 'Solving Problems and Making Decisions' and is designed to develop practical techniques for tackling managerial problems and decisions from gathering and interpreting information through to the effective communication of outcomes.

The delivery of each unit will consist of a one day workshop followed by an individual workplace assessment or action plan to apply new skills in the workplace.

You will receive a Certificate of Attendance for each individual unit module you attend.  However you will receive a University of Bolton Certificate of Achievement, endorsed by the ILM, if you complete the assessments associated with each Unit and attend the follow up unit workshop to consolidate the learning undertaken.

It is intended that this programme will be fully funded programme from and places will be offered depending on the appropriateness to your role and the professional continuous development agreed on your professional development plan.
