The University of Bolton has had a successful partnership with Malawi Institute of Management (MIM) in Lilongwe, since 2007.
The partnership currently uses both part and full franchise arrangements. On the part franchise programmes, all programmes include delivery from University of Bolton tutors but some modules are delivered by MIM tutors in their entirety. Each programme is managed by a Link Tutor from the University of Bolton. For franchise programmes, curriculum development and quality assurance is undertaken by the University of Bolton but all teaching is managed and delivered by MIM staff. The programmes are delivered in ‘block mode’: For postgraduate programmes, students are typically required to attend four day blocks of teaching every six to seven weeks. These blocks are delivered over the weekend to assist work based learners and minimise the amount of leave from work required. Students have access to MIM’s campus facilities and the University’s online study resources. Programmes are offered as detailed below.
- Part Franchise
- MSc Supply Chain Management
- MSc Project Management
- Master of Public Administration
- PhD Programme
